Meet The Team
Laura and Danielle are friends with a passion for building community together. They met over 10 years ago, and have been actively volunteering together in the community ever since. A huge portion of our dream with Dizzy Bear Designs is to be able to give members of our community a hand up. Our dream is that we'll be able to employ community members that need financial support to help with getting our products out to customers.
We also intend on donating a portion of the proceeds from our Every Child Matters and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women lines to survivors.
Laura Ward
Creative Director
Laura is a member of the Tla'amin Nation that lives, works, and plays on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh, & Squamish Nations.
Laura is passionate about building community capacity and finding the gifts that individuals have to offer. As a community leader she has found that bringing people together through the arts can be empowering. She has always been drawn to the arts in some capacity herself. As co-owner of Dizzy Bear Designs she is hoping to be able to spend more time creating, hanging out with her teenager, and giving back to the community. When not at her paid job in the film industry, Laura can be found advocating for education, volunteering at community events, or at a softball diamond watching her daughter play the sport she loves.
Danielle
Marketing Director
Danielle lives works and plays on the traditional unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tseil-Waututh Nations. She is an ally to Indigenous people and has always appreciated the culture.
Danielle has been an active participant and volunteer in many aspects of her life. From volunteering first aid services, helping out at her two kids schools, and stepping in to help sports organizations, she has always tried to find a way to help with her skills.
It's very important to Danielle that she is able to use her voice and opportunities to help others. It is a dream of Danielle's to create a strong and healthy community by opening doors and creating opportunities for those that could use a hand up.
As a partner of Dizzy Bear Designs, Danielle is excited to work with her close friend Laura, on something that they are both passionate about, and will give them the opportunity to be creative.
